Princess Celestia and the Royal Summer
Yesterday, when I initially wrote this post I was confused and assumed this was a new book. But that doesn't seem to be true! Various readers and even G.M. Berrow herself confirmed that this book is a re-release of the "Princess Celestia and the Summer of Royal Waves" book, but for the UK. This means that the UK will get another title and cover than the US, but the story will stay the same.
Princess Celestia and the Royal Summer is the first part of the Princess Collection series, and is written by G.M. Berrow (known from the Daring Do Adventure Collection). Pre-orders are not yet available, but we do have a release date: January 7, 2016. (Weirdly enough the book is only listed on Amazon US and not UK).
This is the information that Amazon provides for the UK release:
When Princess Celestia hears that her friend Diamond Waves is in trouble, she rushes to Monacolt to help her. The beautiful kingdom by the sea is on the brink of disaster and none of the students at the Monacolt Magic Academy can do the spell that will save the city. Can Princess Celestia bring the magic back to Monacolt before it's too late?

  1. The disaster is probably a flood or a tsunami.

  2. I'm sorry, but I'm reading Princess Celestia And the Summer of the Royal Waves to my little sister right now and it has the exact same plot as the above summary.

    1. It could be that the summary is a place holder. Would be weird to re-release a book that fast with another name!?

    2. Actually, it's a UK release of the Princess Celestia and the Summer of the Royal Waves book. the description is very similar to the back of the book. It's just a UK release. Little, Brown publishes the MLP books in the US. This book looks like it would fit in very well with these... https://www.hachettechildrens.co.uk/search.page?SearchText=My+Little+Pony

They use different art compared to the US version, and they changed the title. Sometimes title changes happen in other countries. Example, the Wii U game Sonic Boom, is called Sonic Toon in Japan. Same content, just different names (not a good example, but it makes the point).

    3. It's just like the Rainbow Magic books. Different titles in the US and UK.

  3. Yeah, that's the same plot as Royal Waves. This looks to be just the paperback edition.
