Over in Chile a brand new set was just found in stores, with a new brushable twist: the Celebration Tails set features Zipp, Pipp, Izzy, Misty and Sunny with long tails!
Yes, the Super Long Hair ponies make a return in G5, although these ponies combine the long tail hairs with molded manes, making the length contrast of these 3" ponies even bigger. The plastic-free box holds the ponies behind a flap to make sure the hair doesn't get tangled up right away.Talking about tangled, as far as we know right now the box contains only the five ponies, and no brush or comb to actually play with their hair. Normally the front of the box gives a hint of the included accessories, but on this occasion only "5 ponies" is mentioned.
Whether this set gets a regular release in other countries is unsure. There's a chance that this set will be targeted towards discount stores, but time will tell. We hope to share more information about this release soon!
Many thanks to Paulo for the photos and Lauren for the heads-up.
is misty now a part of the main cast? also i feel like they shouldve has the manes done as well instead of just the tails, looks more like the mcdonalds ponies then anything :P
ReplyDeleteThere is no cutie mark charms
ReplyDeleteBut the cool artiticulated And a long brushable tail I cannot believe it they feature sunny izzy zipp pipp
ReplyDeleteand misty
But sadly there is no hitch on it
ReplyDeleteWe're getting brushable tails and moulded manes again, and no Hitch? That's unfortunate. There's nothing that stands out on these that really interests me.
ReplyDeleteOh well, these will be a pass for me, personally, but I do hope that they'll be others' taste.
Still no other new ponies, just rehashing the main characters. Feels like the toy line for this generation was finished before it ever really started, which is sad.
ReplyDeleteIn general it feels like Hasbro forgot after G2 that what made MLP popular was also it being tons of collectible characters.
Deleteim afraid that this generation might not even last that long :( i think that G3 might have been the last generation where there were a variety of ponies (not counting the last year of G3 which was 2008 since that was just the core 7 >.<) i want the next generation to at least go back to there roots and just make more variety of ponies instead of a main cast and franchise :P but sadly every single toyline has to be franchised >.<
Deletejust saw these at target in wisconsin, they are priced at $20 here

DeleteThat's interesting. And here I thought this set would be a country exclusive.
ReplyDeleteyea i was suprised that they showed up where i live since things would mostly come late here(we still dont have some of the walmart exclusive fashion style esque ponies here, all ive seen are both versions of sunny, izzy, and zipp, and i havent seen the style of the day ponies yet either...) the box is different thou as there is an open window instead and the tail hair is all over the place from all those kids touching the box >.<
