Hot Topic Shows Friendship is Magic #22 Exclusive Cover
According to the cover variants page of FiM #21, Hot Topic made a cover for that one. However, they have never showed it on their site and instead show their cover for the upcoming FiM #22 comic, which comes available on the 13th of August. The cover features Cheese Sandwich on various TV screens and popping out of another one, based on Weird Al Yankovic parodies (thanks Beth and Ramivic).

I think they might be references to Weird Al's famous parodies! I know the bottom one could be "Like A Surgeon", at least.
ReplyDeleteya. and the one above it is " eat it " idk about the very top one though.
DeleteTop one is from the movie UHF
DeleteJust like UHF - another one of Weird Al's movies. Also #21 HT variant exists, its' on ebay. Dont know why HT decided not to place on website??? They have #20 still on the site and then the new #22. Go fig.

Did someone say Cheese Sandwich?
ReplyDeleteLike a surgeon *maybe* Dare to be Stupid or Eat It, and UHF
ReplyDeleteOMG THE BACKROUND IS THE GLASSES FROM THE BOX ART OF UHF!!!!!!!
DeleteThis is a great Weird Al collectible lol... the background image is the test pattern from the UHF soundtrack cover art (that you see in Al's glasses); Cheese Sandwich in the Hawaiian shirt popping out of the TV is based off the movie poster for UHF; and the three little TVs are references to (from top to bottom): Money for Nothing/The Beverly Hillbillies, Eat It, and Like a Surgeon. My only disappointment is Cheese Sandwich has nothing to do with the story inside. This one's getting framed for display on my wall!
