My Little Pony Rainbow Road trip Rainbow Tail Surprise Figures
This weekend will be a very busy day for us as it's Toy Fair time! But just before the opening a website called comicbook.com has revealed some upcoming figures!

These are the Rainbow Tail Surprise figures. They are based of the "Rainbow Road Trip" Special. This special will be about the Mane 6 bringing back the rainbow to a land without color. I'm personally curious if this will also be the theme for this years line-up. Anyway the figures themselves are 3 inches tall and have special tails (and wings for Twilight Sparkle) when you put them into water they will change color! I've seen this gimmick myself on some toys and it works quite well most of the time.

Have the official description below and stay tuned for more Toy Fair news this weekend!
Thanks to everyone for the heads up!

  1. Yet again. More lazy clearance bin rejects from a toy company who has no idea how to sell things to people. Nobody is ASKING for more repeats of these tired characters in these tired molds in this tired franchise. 2019 was supposed to be the celebration of G4 as a whole, not just the Mane 6 parade YET AGAIN. They introduce an entire new set of secondary characters into the show and they produce toys of the 2 that would cost Hasbro the least money to make. I don’t like the Student 6 in the slightest but that’s just flat out disrespectful. I love the Mane 6 as characters a lot, they’re very near and dear to my heart but this is sad. This is really frickin sad. We have been introduced to many colorful characters throughout the years of G4 who have never made it into the toy line because Hasbro is so damn INSISTENT on constant forced repeats because its cheap and they think kids will eat it up. I’m gonna be really sentimental when the show ends for good at the end of the year and it’ll be hard for me to say goodbye to these characters but as for the toyline? BRING IT ON BABY!!!

That being said I hope and pray they keep the VA’s for G5, I can’t imagine more qualified people to play those characters.

    1. None of the past few releases were "clearance bin rejects" tho (manufacturing date in the feet says otherwise), they just reproduce the well-selling toys over and over again as their target audience is still children age 3-6 for the main line and every year there are new toddlers in the world that will discover MLP and want the main cast, it's an eternal circle of easy money.

    2. Here's my beef with that though. Clearly these ARE clearance bin rejects since they're copies of previously released toys that have been released not once, but TWICE in the past year. These aren't being released as a one off special international pack like they've done with previous unreleased stock, they're a headliner for the 2019 fall collection. This is extremely lazy and I'm not going to stand for Hasbro once again not taking risks with this franchise. This is the last year for G4! They could go big and go out with a bang, and yet they continue to recycle the same old tired concepts and characters. I understand kids are going to go with the most familiar characters to them and that we as collectors are not the target audience, but don't you think kids are adapting to their laziness by now? The Meet the Mane 6 set was a headliner for the 2018 Christmas season, and it sold very well. This wasn't a set that was released a few years ago, if it was maybe I would let Hasbro slide with recycling it. This was released LAST YEAR. Do you think 4 year olds aren't gonna notice that they're getting the same exact toys they got when they were 3? That's bull. And the fact that these are more expensive for a measly 3 characters? You can get this exact same set with 3 extra (neglected) characters for like 15 dollars without a stupid reused gimmick. At the end of the day this is shameful, and proves that Hasbro doesn't give a damn about the end of this generation. I miss 2010-2016, when MLP had actual integrity. Do better Hasbro.

    3. You seem to forget that children of that age have a much shorter attention span than we do, Hasbro doesn't expect the "3 year old from last year" to still be into MLP next year hence the mentioned yearly new toddlers. I take care of soon 4 yo twins myself and they already forgot MLP and moved on while the break.

    4. Also your "2010-2016" MLP was in no way different to now with always re-releasing the same Mane6 single brushables with some new fancy chicken pox, nostalgia makes things appear better than they were but ever since G3 Hasbro's marketing has been like that, happens when a bunch of old businessmen have the say over a brand of children's toys.

  2. Hasbro already tried putting more effort into MLP toys, remember Guardians of Harmony? That didn't do as well as they hoped so they don't care anymore. Hasbro also doesn't really care about characters the show makes as long as they can get their yearly castle.

    2. It is repetitive, because the mane six are the protagonists, this is obvious.

but, there are also figures of other ponies, between the figures blind bags and ponies with real mane.

and for your information, G4 will not have an end in this year, in 2021 they will present a new movie of mlp

    3. Yeah the collector market isn't something that is a factor for MLP.

    4. G4 ends after season 9, this year. The movie is for G5. You clearly didn't see any of the leaks.

    5. the Eq Daily article, names Hasbro's announcement, but, the matter, movie in relation to G4 or G5.

Ok, I did not remember the article well

    6. Yeah, the leaks that can finally go to the trash can if Hasbro says absolutely nothing yet; because although, the videos were true; images and words at the end can be made by fans just to get attention or were just ideas at the moment, something that so far, are not true.
When Hasbro says G5 is true, then, G5 is true, while, nothing.

  3. I'm always immediately disappointed to see the mane six over and over, but then I remember the tremendous amount of awesome ponies and pony stuff I've got and think, "It's for the best that it's ending." It's had a great run and will forever be cherished. Doubtful there'll be a "G5," at least not for some time (what would you go, revert to the G1-3/3.5 style?) Another movie could probably be done.
