Did you know that you can predict what an MLP blind bag will contain without opening it? We'll teach you all about it in this special post.

1. First you need to know which wave of blind bag you seen in a store. In our Blind Bag Database you can see which bag matches the one in your store.

2. Find the code on the blind bag (examples below):
- Wave 1-7 blind bags have a seam on the back of the blind bag with a code, this code is either 2 or 5 numbers long. When you have a 5-number code, only read the 2nd and 4th number: #80216 is #01 and #82206 is #20.
- Wave 8-11 blind bags have a 2-letter code on the bottom of the bag.

3. Use our Blind Bag Database to see which pony matches the code!

Here are 2 examples:
This Wave 5 blind bag has code #70192 (#09), which is Rainbow Dash!
This Wave 9 blind bag has code AH, which is Shoeshine!

  4. Also, I was curious (I am just getting into my little pony after my daughter discovered it on netflix), I know the new waves use 2 letters instead of 5 digits to indicate which is which, but do the 5 digit codes mean anything anymore? I looked through the Wave 10 items, and most of them had the same 5 digit number 42161, but some had a different number, 42191. I assumed the number corresponds to the box, since there was more than one box, but I was confused because I was trying to see the ponies through the little vent and it seemed the 42191 ponies didn't match the codes (unless I was just mistaken?). Both the bags/boxes looked exactly the same, and the "42161" ponies I got matched the codes here.

  7. You can read the card through the plastic in the light. Very easily. Might have to move the picture on the bag to a lighter colour but every single one I have bought I have known what it was without this nonsense of researching what the codes are. Honestly try and see through the bag!!

  10. So, where will the codes be on wave 15? I had a hard time seeing them on the previous wave & had to wiggle things around to peep inside to get the right ones. I find the codes quicker & easier. It helps keep the cards in the best condition possible as well
