Today I found something really interesting on Taobao. At first glance they just looked like a lot of regular brushables, but then I noticed something... they have completely new bodies and poses. The figures themselves look great with some new poses. But now comes the question... what are they? Now the seller has a lot of legit MLP Stuff on their site so I think these are real (still they could be fake). The quality of these looks also very great/perfect. So, are they from a third-company or are these possible reboot brushables and are we moving to perhaps Generation 4.5? With the new logo and all going on at the moment as well it seems kinda likely. But perhaps the biggest possibility is the fact that these are for the upcoming movie since the models of the Ponies are different then the show as well. (This is because the movie is made using Toon Boom instead of Flash)
But so far all of this is only speculation. For now I just think we have to wait although this makes me very eager to see what's next for the future of My Little Pony.

DeleteI think, they are having too big heads or too short legs...
ReplyDeleteThat matches new the character design that they use for the movie tho.
DeleteI quite like them, Celestia in particular. Poor Lyra looks like she's had a bit too much coffee ...
ReplyDeleteI like them too especially Lyra heartstrings ❤
DeleteIt all makes sense, they will relaunch the brand with the MLP movie coming up next year.
ReplyDeleteI like them a lot, give us a lot of different characters please!
I really like the new muzzles, look much more show-akkurate.
ReplyDeleteI honsetly would perfer if they just kept g4, but these are kinda cute! I hope their character design is somewhat normal though.
ReplyDeleteIt's still G4, even G1 had various minor redesigns within its loooooooooong lifespan.
DeleteI agree i like them a lot too hope they make different characters
DeleteI reeeeeeeeeeeally don't know how I feel about this... I prefer the brushables they have now. If anything, they should have this a separate line of toys.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. I have a feeling their design is going to look bad. But I'm going to give it a chance.
DeleteYeah, I feel the exact same way. Like Fluttershy said, I'll give it a chance but they just feel...wrong...
DeleteExactly... but I do like your prediction Twilight. Let's just hope that you're right, lol.
DeleteI dunno, I've always been used to collecting the ones we have now, and I love how the bodes are the same, because it keeps my collection consistent. These figures just seem like a lot of work to collect (and money of course)
DeleteTrue... They seem hard to stand up, but the bodies do look a little more show acurate
DeleteOkay.. Maybe not as much as I thought... I kinda like them but it doesn't fell right..
DeleteHere's my theory, I've actually had this since 2014 when the movie was announced but now it has some footing: For the movie, Hasbro wants it to be something unique and special, so they want the toys to be updated as well. There will be some all new designs for the toys that will tie into the movie, but the regular brushables will remain, because this has the movies character designs and clearly they won't be using the designs used in the movie for the show, so after the movie releases, they'll be back to releasing regular old brushables. This is just for the movie, nothing more!
ReplyDeleteI think these are legit mlp brushible ponies they probably won't be selling regular brushible ponies if it does happen.
Deletehaha liar poopoo face
DeleteBut for my opinion? I don't really like em. I don't like the poses or how skinny they are and how big the heads are. They don't look right... but I think they'll sell well.
ReplyDeleteomg these look cool! i want them :)
ReplyDeleteThese share design elements from the movie redesigns. The ears and the noticeably ridged horns are a dead give away. These are probably toys for the movie.
ReplyDelete...the ears and horns have always been like this at G4 brushables, the only thing that changed is the lenght of the horns and the angle of the ears.
DeleteBut, why is Lyra here? Will she play a bigger role in the movie? Who knows. Only time will tell.
ReplyDeleteMaybe these are exclusive to the movie and once the movie merch is done, they'll go back to selling the regular brushables.
ReplyDeleteYou're right they might be exclusive brushible ponies for the mlp movie. But i still think they are pretty cool.
DeleteIt wouldn't make sense to make them movie exclusives... Don't forget that the goal of the movie is to attract new longterm customers to buy their toys, Hasbro would shoot themself in the foot if it wouldn't be something permanent.
DeleteI'm just happy to see some poses instead of the same 4 basic poses.
ReplyDeletewhy does everyone comment on brushables ?

ReplyDeleteThese are awful... what the heck were they thinking if they are real... it's like a deranged child drew them... No... bad bad bad bad bad. I will never buy these if they become the new standard.
ReplyDeleteI for one hooe that they keep the current moulds. It looks as if those new ones will be unpleasant to customise...
ReplyDeleteHow someone can say those ate awful when G3.5 exists :D they are adorable its time to move as current g4 already used all possible ideas

ReplyDeleteyou;re kidding right?
DeleteNo, I'm collector from G1, the only generation I skippedvis G3.5
Deleteomg so am i! haha yeh but this even worst than the rest of the old Gs
DeleteThey only used all ideas because they keep making the same six ponies over and over c.c

ReplyDeleteI hope that is just a bootlegged.
They look cool.
ReplyDeleteif these ponies are real, i hope to see a princess luna
ReplyDeleteThey are weird but super cute too! I'll sure buy one if they get officially released.
ReplyDeleteO_o Huh?? They don't look anything like the show.... why are they so balloony?? I hope the animation doesn't start looking that way!!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I LOVE THESE! CELESTIA LOOKS BEAUTIFUL! And I love the detail in her wings! Her size compared to the other ponies doesn't look out of place, more show-accurate, and the new looks are so cute! I want them all...except Lyra, possibly, I think she needs to get some work down on that muzzle...
ReplyDeleteG4.5
ReplyDeleteThese things are hideous. G4 is without a shadow of a doubt, the ugliest generation of mlps ever! I've seen kindergarteners draw a better looking pony then whatever these Things are.
