It's been relatively quiet with My Little Pony merch announcement, but last week an exciting press release was sent out by Hasbro, announcing a new official MLP Card Game to be released by Kayou.
Where Enterplay used to be the mayor player during the G4 era, with two card games and many collectibles, in 2024 the Chinese company Kayou started to take over. This started with collectible cards focused on the Chinese market, but with the upcoming MLP Card Game Hasbro ensures a global releases with cards in multiple languages. The cards in this official MLP Card Game are designed by both in-house Hasbro and external illustrators, resulting in a mix of styles and designs. Aside from pony designs we also see locations and story/event cards in the promo images. Further details on how the card game works are not yet shared, but from April 26th debut event and tournaments will be held across China.
After the initial launch Kayou will work on translated version of the card game, and also promises to start a global tournament system. More expansions and stories are also planned, but none of these plans have a release date planned yet.
