Cutie Mark Crew Series 3 Found in The Netherlands + Review
Many people around the world are awaiting the release of new characters in the 3rd Cutie Mark Crew blind boxes series, and few have been lucky. Out of the blue we found them laying around at Intertoys, here in The Netherlands! We didn't get to see the series 2 blind figures, and directly jumped to the 3rd series, which is available around the country.
We visited 3 shops in the past week, and in each store we were able to find 5 loose packs (outside of the display box) and bought them all. This way we could get a start on our collection and get a closer look at the packaging they come in.

And well, to start with the packaging, below we have a before and after(math) comparison. We don't know what the reason was for this type of packaging, but we guarantee you: it's messy. Real messy!
Opening them (at least the European variants) isn't all too easy. There's a 2-step instruction on the packaging: fold away the cardboard and pull the string. All this does is pop confetti around the room, but the figure does not come out. This requires some additional tearing or cutting tape. Inside it some more confetti, the character sheet and a single bag with the figure, accessory and heart-shaped stand, just like the first two series.
If you're going to open these, we really advice you to open them on a surface which is easy to clean or a box in which you can catch all confetti. Else be prepared to find confetti in all corners of your house for the coming months.
Once the packaging is open, the figure can't go back in and the packaging must be thrown away. This is one more downside compared to the earlier series, which had the stackable houses that work pretty good for storing them and resulted less waste.

This series has some more characters (9/24 are non-mane 6) and various new glitter finishes have been added too. If you love to get a Queen Chrysalis or Baby Flurry Heart then you should definitely try to get your hand on this set.

  1. H Ilona!

Congratulations you got the Celestia with the throne - that's the one I really want!

I am visiting Amsterdam later this month - is Intertoys a large, common chain of stores?

    1. They're the biggest chain of toy stores here, and there are a couple in Amsterdam. Keep an eye out for their bright yellow signs.
      Enjoy your stay!

  3. Soooo...... still nothing more concrete about the 2019 toyline? If it's true 2019 will be the final year for G4, they're being way too silent if you ask me. Unless they are waiting the Toy Fair for the big reveal.

    1. It's not a "big reveal" if it's all just mane six repeats *dab* we've all seen everything coming out soon before, likely.

    2. There is always some big reveal tho, just like how they did spoiler the school this year and I assume in Hasbro's tradition, they will release another "building" related to the season's opening/ending as usual.

  4. Any labels like series 2 to differentiate between the "blind bags" to know who's in which? And the Target near me in the US is getting series 3 in on the 1st. Dpci 086 02 0200
