This years New York Toy Fair sadly has been cancelled just like last year due to Covid, but luckily we received an email from Hasbro today with the latest My Little Pony merchandise news! We received quite a lot of information so let's get to it:
New Animated Shows
We start with the confirmation that we'll get to see two animated series in the G5 universe this year, both on Netflix and YouTube. Starting in April weekly episodes of My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale will launch on YouTube and in September 26 the Netflix series My Little Pony: Make Your Mark will start.
And if that is not enough there will also be two specials on Netflix this year: Make Your Mark (May 26) and Winter Wishday (November 21). In total this will sum up to around 500 minutes of animated pony goodness!
Musical Mane Melody Playset
The first announcement is the Musical Mane Melody Playset: a carry-around playset it the shape of a radio that can play music. It comes with Sunny Starscout, Pipp Petals and a brand new character: Sparky Sparkeroni. According to the description this set is based on the upcoming Netflix series My Little Pony: Make Your Mark.
Make Your Mark at Mane Melody: Maretime Bay's first combo salon/karaoke stage from the My Little Pony: Make Your Mark show. Mini World Magic
We'll also be getting a new toyline this year called Mini World Magic. This line consists of some adorable small playsets with even more adorable small pony figures like Polly Pocket. The description states these are inspired by the My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale series on Youtube. Three sets have been announced:

DeleteThe minis are super cute! They remind me of G1 Petite Ponies. I hope they have more characters, blind bag or otherwise, sold without playsets. I don't think I could resist turning doubles into earrings, though!

The three inch brushables are a bit underwhelming, but the Fashion Styles from this gen are some of my all-time favorite ponies, and I'd love to see more characters- Shutter Snap has a gorgeous color scheme, and so many main characters have yet to be made! We need another wave!
Daring Flare and Maverick Mauve reminds me of Midnight Dreams and Seashell. Though I see Hasbro is still playing the I just throw darts at two words and call it a name game. They're cute though, hope they get proper toys.
