My Little Pony Sunny Starscout Plush by YuMe

Wildberries, the largest Russian online retailer, has listed some adorable new G5 plushies made by YuMe. These plushies are 25 centimeters (10 inches) tall. Available are Izzy Moonbow, Sunny Starscout and Zipp Storm. The plushies themselves are very nicely done in my opinion, as they have printed on details like texture in their manes, and Sunny even got some very nice bows.

This by the way, isn't the first time we've heard from YuMe, the first time was actually during the New York Toy Fair in 2020 where they showed G4 plush and Pony Life/G4.5 Pony Pal Stampers which if I'm right, never got released. I'm glad to see some new stuff from them and I hope to see some non-plush stuff too in the future.

For those interested, you can find the listings below. They are listed for 1926 ₽ which is about $27 USD. It's also very likely that these plushies will also be available outside Russia, if you spot them somewhere else please let us know!

Thanks a lot to Tomo for the heads up!

  1. I'm a bit concerned about the lack of symbols (possibly a prototype-only issue? Or are they on the left?) and the head pattern. While they look nice from the angles they're showing them, I'm not optimistic about the front view (namely the space between the eyes); however, the construction and cute details make these very tempting to track down!

These guys are cute and have a unique spark to them, and I appreciate Zipp's inclusion over Pipp (though I'd prefer the whole gang, she's my favorite of the two and Sunny, Izzy, and Pipp seem to be the new Pinkie, Twi, and Dash with their availability). I like the feather detail on Zipp, the inclusion of Sunny's bag, and this Izzy (and maybe the Play-by-Play brushable as well, too lazy to check) is the only one to attempt to emulate her hair gradient so far!

Sure, they seem to have their quirks, but that's the beauty of having multiple licensees producing their own plushies. The same characters with different interpretations of the art style... if you collect a ton of them, they look so wild lined up, and it reminds me of Toy Story 2, when Woody is exploring the merchandise for his show! Putting together such a display is part of what makes collecting so much fun.

They may not be what I'd call the definitive G5 plushies (still waiting for those!), but I just might buy these... Time will tell. Shipping may be kinder if I wait as well. I just wish I wasn't so impatient!

  2. YuMe says they're going to Europe (so not only Russia) and that we can expect more details soon.
