IDW Announces G5 Comic Series Titled 'My Little Pony'

After the end of the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic comic series with 102 issues and the My Little Pony: Generations comics we were officially out of monthly issued comics by IDW. That will end soon as IDW today announces a brand new comic series that will follow after the event from the My Little Pony: A New Generation movie.

This first G5 comic series, titled 'My Little Pony' without any subtitle, will revolve around the Mane 5 and Cloudpuff in the world of Equestria following the story of the 2021 My Little Pony Netflix movie. According to IDW and their press release on CBR this will be an ongoing series, much like the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic comic series that ran from 2012 until the release of issue #102 in 2021.

The first issue will be written by Celeste Bronfman with illustrations by Amy Mebberson. Confirmed cover artists are Amy Mebberson herself, JustaSuta and Brianna Garcia. Our guess is that we'll see plenty of (exclusive) cover variants by other artists too (MLP:FiM #1 had 26 different covers!). May 5th will be the release date for this first issue, with an expected monthly release for following issues. Pre-orders are not yet available at this moment.
