MLP Princess Applejack & Rainbow Dash Fakies
It's been around a month since the first Quest for the Worst MLP Fakies post, and because of the overwhelmingly positive reactions I've decided to write another one! I once again saved up all the fakies I found last month, and was planning to keep going a bit longer. However, I want to warn you all for new fakies that have been going around since the past 2 weeks, and in the past few days it's gotten a bit out of hand. So, as a warning to everyone I start this post with:

MLP Princess Fakies
This huge collection of Princess-body fakies. Some of these are quite obvious (Rainbow Dash and Applejack princesses???), while others look spot on. We can safely say that the Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Princess Cadance, Princess Luna and Twilight Sparkle figures are fake, as they were never released as Princess-body brushables. It also seems that the angle of the wings is a bit off, where those of the fakies point more upwards than the real figures.
At this moment we'd highly advice not to buy any Princess figure online without packaging. Most of the current listings on quite some websites are fakes. If you're unsure, always compare the figure with the images in our Brushable Database.
Thanks to The Kinz, Mythowolf, Mel and everyone else for sending these in!

MLP Raised Hoof Fakies
Other fakies that I've seen very often these past weeks are these cheap 'raised hoof' ponies. They don't directly try to resemble MLP characters, but they are being sold as My Little Pony toys. Face-wise they look a bit like older fakies (which I don't have a photo of at the moment), but the pose seems to be a new feature.

MLP Fake Applejack Plush
Next is this Applejack plush. It looks very well made and got inspiration from the Aurora plush, but with a hat. I'm not too sure on the exact sizes, but judging by the neck pillows in the back it isn't too small.
Definitely not a contestant for the worst fakie!

MLP Fake Rainbow Dash Plush BackpackMLP Fake Rarity Plush BackpackMLP Fake Twilight Sparkle Plush Backpack
Especially when you compare that plush to these. They're sewed to the back of a plush backpack and didn't get the details they should get. The noses look off, and the colors on Twilight are horrific. Some of the bodies are also a bit out of proportion, and Applejack traded her hat for a pair of wings.

MLP Fake Applejack Tissue SofaMLP Fake Fluttershy Tissue Sofa
MLP Fake Rainbow Dash Tissue SofaMLP Fake Twilight Sparkle Tissue SofaMLP Fake Rarity Tissue Sofa
Don't like the design of your tissue box? In need for a sofa for your dolls? Looking for the smallest plush ever? If you answered 'yes' three times then this is the "thing" for you! These are so called Tissue Sofas and they pop over your tissue box to make them look like... sofas I guess. Included is a small pillow and tiny MLP plush (if you can even call them that). Comparing these to a regular tissue box I think the plush are not much taller than your average blind bag!

MLP Fake Applejack PillowMLP Fake Twilight Sparkle Pillow
Last but not least in the plush selections are these pillows of Applejack and Twilight. The designs are most probably stolen from DeviantArt, but the bootleggers didn't even care to properly cut out the designs. On the Applejack pillow you can still see plenty of grass in the background, and Fluttershy is still standing behind Twilight!

MLP Fake My Lovely Horse Busy Book FiguresMLP Fake My Lovely Horse Busy Book Figures
I also came across these figures, which are of course the bootleg Busy Book figures that have been around for ages (why did they ever copy the worst pony designs out there, anyway?), but they also ship as blind bags now. They call come in their very own "My Lovely Horse" heart-shaped container.

MLP Fake Funko POP Twilight Sparkle Figure
Last edition we warned you about fake Funko POP ponies going around that look almost like the real deal, but this seller made it a bit easier to spot. All names and copyrights have been removed from the packaging (apart from the number that is), and this is sure to ring alarm bells among those familiar with Funko POPs! This figure is also missing the MLP logo on the left foot, with which you can identify these fakes from real POPs.

MLP Fake Pinkie Pie Pinata
Never skip leg day Pinata Pinkie, never skip leg day.

MLP Fake Gift Bags
Sometimes the unlicensed MLP products are not bad at all. While these sold in high volume bulk on shady marketplaces, the designs are well chosen and have a neat pop-out mane.
However, nobody seems to care what race Applejack is today...

MLP Fake 3D/source/gmod ErasersMLP Fake 3D/source/gmod Erasers
This time I found some erasers again, and the design is a bit more colorful this time. However, this is the first time I see a product using the source/gmod 3D models of MLP, instead of the regularly seen show vectors or stolen artwork.

MLP Unlicensed Phone Cover
Poor Applejack... It's always her...

MLP Unlicensed Legging
Sometimes the people who make knock-off merch have no inspiration at all and simply steal artwork from DeviantArt, but sometimes they get too many inspiration and this happens. I'm not sure what the idea was behind these recoloring, but Applejack doesn't look too well...

MLP Unlicensed Shirt
And to finish this post: Here is a shirt with an unpleased Rarity. Who would buy this??

And that was the second edition of my quest for the worst fakies. I plan on doing these regularly, but only if I find some new fakies of course. This edition was a bit shorter than I planned it to be, so let's hope I can get enough material for the 3rd installment!

  1. "At this moment we'd highly advice not to buy any Princess figure online without packaging."

This is a very strange conclusion. Here are some pretty, well-made figures featuring characters in poses you won't see them in from Hasbro: therefore don't buy them?

    1. We would never directly advice people to buy fakes, as we can't be sure about the used plastic and paint. Princess fakies in the past were made of very cheap plastic, and the clay mold was still present in the body for most figures. Quality Control was basically non-existent.
Also, the advice in this post is meant for people who are looking for legitimate Princess brushables who are unsure about the products they see online.

    2. Ossie is right: it's unsure whether the plastic used is in compliance with safety regulations! Nonetheless, they are beautiful fakies and as long as they're used for display only this shouldn't be cause for alarm.

    3. I ordered a Luna from eBay and she's a pretty good fake. They tried their best although you can tell she's fake because she's pretty skinny and can't stand very easily. They must have stolen the mold from Hasbro, she even has the MLP logo on her hoof. She blends in okay with my Hasbro ponies and would be good for videos but she's not the same quality. There could be lead paint in there!

  4. Actually, I really love the AJ and RD princesses! :D (I have this headcanon that maybe someday the mane 6 will all become alicorns, and so I guess it thrills me to see it happen, even if it is in bootleg form) ;)

  5. At least the Alicorns look realistic. Maybe not Cadence, but u could use them just because. Once they make the mane 6 Derpy & her friends should be next! Who wouldn't want Princess Derpy Hooves?!
