Wave 21 Blind Bags: What's New?

The Wave 21 blind bags have been released over in Singapore, so it's only a matter of time before they'll be available in the US and possibly other countries too. After seeing the first pictures (thanks to Joelle) it's clear that this wave is a reboot of the blind bag series for several reasons, which we're going to elaborate on in this post.

The Packaging

Wave 19 & 20 already got a first make-over as part of the reboot line, but wave 21 shakes it up a bit more by getting rid of the old stock vectors and creating a unique display of characters in MLP The Movie style. Of course the logo has been updated as well, yet the older "Friendship is Magic Collection" stamp is still there.
The box got a little update, also portraying the new style and removing the character list on the front of the box, which was introduced by the reboot series.

The Figures

The figures seem the same as usual (especially with the re-usage of various molds), but there has been a small update this wave: the hole that was usually present in one of the hooves has been removed.
Aside from some Friendship is Magic Collection sets there haven't been many play sets or items to feature a pin on which you could place a blind bag pony, so the use of that feature was very limited.
Fun fact: With the use of our converter we learn that this Elbow Grease figure, with production code 70581, was made on February 27th of this year!

The Cards

Perhaps one of the most interesting changes is that the blind bag collector card now folds open in a small promotional leaflet! Because this set is brand new it already reveals some sets we've only just heard about!
