Bloks Releases My Little Pony Building Brick Sets in China

Every since the start of G4 people have been wondering if we were every going to see My Little Pony building brick sets. Aside from some bootleg products the (failed) K'NEX/Tinkertoy sets were the closest we got to that wish.

And while G5 is already in full swing we're still happy to make this post, as the wish seems to finally be fulfilled, well, in China that is. Manufacturer "Bloks" received a license to create My Little Pony themed building brick sets to be sold within China and their first line-up has just been announced!

The series start with 4 purse playsets featuring Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle. Each purse comes with several blocks to build your own room, a molded pony and a couple of accessories for her. The purse can be closed and carried along.

The 5th set is a very nicely detailed Castle of Friendship that can be built in multiple designs, featuring a lot of specially designed bricks. It comes with figures of Applejack and Twilight Sparkles, as well as some different accessories.

All sets are listed on Tmall where the cases are 149 yuan each (~$23) and the castle is 449 yuan (~$70). For the castle there is no image of the packaging, but there are small images of the cases, and they feature some cute flat design pony faces we haven't seen before!

Thanks to RDB for the heads-up and translations on the images! Below we have some more detailed ones from the purse listings.

  2. These are so cool! Super annoying that my favourite two (Rarity & Fluttershy) are absent, but they look great!
Any idea if these will ever get a release outside of china? If not, how the heck can i buy a full set of them? I did some googling and you need Chinese ID to buy from TMall. I have a Taobao shopping agent account for when i bought the Popmart figures last year, but they dont sell these. I gotta get them!

    1. TMall is just the Amazon-like part of Taobao where everything is shipped from warehouses (full name is Taobao Mall), any agent should be able to buy from it even if because it uses Taobao accounts in the first place.

    2. Oh, nice - thanks Ayu! I didnt know that. I could enquire about it at taobao focus (the buying agent i used for those MLP popmart figures), but theyre now called 'parcel up', and i cant seem to get the URL for the shop listing of the individual figures to work anymore - i get some login screen.

    3. Hm, if i right click the text with the link to the individual items on TMart, i can paste into my buying agent, and it will let me order - success! Looking like $108 for the first payment. Sheesh! Probably going to be that amount again just for postage if my experience with the Pop mart figures are anything to go by. No Rarity or Fluttershy in the set either. Dang it - why cant someone just release a nice set of the mane 6 using these models!

  3. Hm - now the link to the individual sets isnt working for me, which is problematic, as i found a few potential buying services who could get them for me.
Have they sold out already, or does the site just not like folks from outside china looking?

    1. Both links work from here, but you might need to login with your Taobao account to get access

  4. Is it just me, or do these look suspiciously similar to the fanmade SFM models? Look at the eyes, ears, and wings specifically and you may see what I mean.

    1. They are based on the 3D models Andrew Hickinbottom did for Hasbro.

  5. Indeed, you'll become affluent and also as poor by appreciating Satta king fast. The game is organized by very surprising partnerships. The different companies have happened upon entirely unexpected expenses and amounts for the game. Be that as it may, you might want to retain cash in your pocket or account if you're willing to play the game.
