MLP Classic Unicorn & Pegasus Collection by Basic Fun
An Australian Toy Store in Sydney called "Alfy's New and Vintage Toy Shop" is now selling the brand new Classic Unicorn & Pegasus set by Basic Fun. The reason we decided to post this new is because they haven't been spotted in other stores yet but perhaps these sightings indicate that they will be available in other places soon as well such as Target.

New York Toy Fair 2020 Wrap-Up
The 2020 New York Toy Fair is behind us so it's time for our yearly wrap-up. And this year has been quite disappointing for those who were expecting to see tons of new merchandise. Granted we'll probably see a lot more merchandise during the next Toy Fair in 2021 since the G5 Movie will be released the same year. For this year the focus lays on the new Pony Life Series which will debut this spring/summer.

Hasbro

Hasbro My Little Pony at New York Toy Fair 2020Hasbro My Little Pony at New York Toy Fair 2020
Hasbro didn't reveal many new items this year. Most of the items shown were Reveal the Magic Toys that are actually already available. Several new items have been spotted though, including the officially announced "Kiss my Unicorn" Princess Celestia and the Unicorn Sparkle Collection which comes with DJ Pon-3, Rarity, Starlight Glimmer, Trixie and Twilight Sparkle. Alongside those two we also got a glimpse at the Potion Princess Cadance, the Potion Dress-up Rarity and new Fashion Squad singles of Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle.
There was also an absence of Cutie Mark Crew, which leaves the question what future this line will see in 2020.
And lastly we can't ignore the absolutely adorable Fluttershy juice box cushion that was on display next to the Kiss my Unicorn figure. No idea what their plans are with this, but I sure hope this will be taken in production!

Basic Fun did show their upcoming sets of the second series of the Earth Ponies, Unicorns and Pegasi Ponies alongside the first set of Earth Ponies. The ponies that will be released as part of the Earth Pony II set are Cherries Jubilee, Lickety-Split, Posey and Tootsie. The Unicorn and Pegasi Ponies are Gusty, Sparkler, Suprise and Heart Throb.

Mega Mashems
Brand new are these Mega Mash'ems, which are larger versions of the well known Mash'ems/Fash'ems that we've known My Little Pony versions of since 2013. This new line will start with 4 figures: Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle and Fluttershy in blind capsules.
Meijer has listed the Mega Mash'ems last week, including a high quality render of the packaging, but it seems to be down again.

YuMe

YuMe My Little Pony at New York Toy Fair 2020YuMe My Little Pony at New York Toy Fair 2020
A new name here is YuMe, who showed their first line of My Little Pony licensed products. And they start off with a pretty large line-up, including plush in various sizes, a "Magic Advent Calendar" and most excitingly: a line of collectible stampers called Pony Pals. These small stampers with pony-figures come in their own dome, with their matching pet and interchangeable flooring to customize the domes. On the display we learn that the first series will include the mane 6 and 2 others who were (purposely) left out of frame. Perhaps Trixie and Potion Nova?
While the name YuMe probably sounds unfamiliar for you, people within the EMEA (Europe, Middle-Eastern, Africa) region will get to know them very well over the next year, as they become the primary partner for plush for these markets. This is especially welcome, as the amount of plush licenses dropped significantly in the past few years.

Kotobukiya

The bishoujo statues by Kotobukiya were also on display, but the most recent reveal of the colored Applejack statue was absent. However, the teaser poster for Sunset Shimmer was there and we get the confirmation that the Rainbow Dash statue will have a slightly increased MSRP compared to the other girls, which is also reflected on their US website now.

Basic Fun Shows New G1 Retro Ponies at London Toy Fair
What started in 2018 as the 35th Anniversary series of retro G1 ponies continues for a 3rd year here in 2020! Over in London at the annual Toy Fair, Basic Fun has shown what new ponies we can expect soon. Shown are Cherries Jubilee, Gusty, Heart Throb, Lickety-Split, Posey, Sparkle and Tootsie.
All originate from the year 3 Earth, Pegasus and Unicorn sets, and features almost the complete line. When comparing those sets and what has been on display the Toy Fair, we're only missing Surprise, Powder and Skyflier. Whether any of these will be included in the wave is yet to be confirmed.
All earth ponies come with a brush, ribbon and mini-post and the ponies in the unicorn & pegasus set receive a comb, ribbon and puffy sticker.
A release date is not yet given, but we expect these to pop up at Target around the end of Q1.
Thanks to Wigwam Toys for the photos!

G3 Retro Ponies Now Available at Target
Fans of the 3rd My Little Pony generation were probably very happy to hear that Basic Fun would extend their My Little Pony classic collection from G1 to G3. Now we have the confirmation that the figures were found in several Target stores and that they're available in their online store (links below). Right now the set is limited to 4 of the mane 6 ponies, being Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash, all in their original G3 design.
The ponies come in a box with the same shape as the G1 retro ponies, being it with a design that looks more like the actual G3 packaging. Each pony comes with a comb and is being sold at the MSRP of $9.99 (and not at $8.49, which was originally listed online).

Thanks to Beth and TwilySparks for the images!

Target Lists Four G3 Retro Classic Ponies
The 3rd generation of My Little Pony started back in 2003, and when you think about it, that's already 16 years ago! Whether this falls in the 'retro' category is up to personal preference, but what is sure is that four G3 re-releases are planned for this fall! Under the 'Retro Classic' line Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash will be released in their original G3 form according to listings that popped up on the Target website.
All ponies each come with a comb are listed for $8.49 with an MSRP of $9.99. And while they are marked as 'sold out', we didn't get any confirmations that they were available just yet. That's why we expect them to be available somewhere in the coming weeks.

Below we have more photos of all the ponies, as well as the listings and some more background information on these figures.

Hasbro Announces My Little Pony Retro Rainbow Mane 6
After the My Little Pony 35th Anniversary celebration from last year, Hasbro goes back in time again and announces a brand new set of retro ponies based on the modern mane 6!
The main cast from Friendship is Magic is shaped after ponies from older generation, though with a little twist. Fluttershy, Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash are molded after the classic G1 Firefly pose and Pinkie Pie, Rarity and Applejack are a mixture of G1 and G3 styles. Color-wise the ponies have not changed, but the cutie marks did: they increased in number and size, looking more like the G1 symbols than their current cutie marks.
All ponies come in a single box that is covered with retro-vibes, and even the logo from the first generation! We also received some crazy hi-res images of this set, of which we shared a little compilation below to show you the quality of detail of the figures and packaging.

The My Little Pony Retro Rainbow Mane 6 collection will be an Amazon exclusive and release on the first of September. Pre-orders are available for $24.99.

Together with this new set comes the premiere of My Little Pony: The Retro Show, a free weekly show where Hasbro looks back on the history of My Little Pony from the 80's and 90's.

And if you still have more thirst for retro My Little Pony, why not take a look at our own book My Little Pony Collectibles, where we take a look at the rich history of MLP throughout the generations!

Finally Official: Stranger Things x My Little Pony Applejack
Today is the start of the new Stranger Things season, and for this season Netflix has partnered up with Hasbro and Basic Fun to release this very special Stranger Things-themed Applejack. She is not looking like her regular self and comes with a white and blue color scheme, which includes her mane, tail and symbol/cutie mark. The latter of which is intentionally printed upside-down.
She comes in a monochrome box and is always packed wrong side up. On the back we see the usual style of the 35th Anniversary ponies, though it only showing Applejack. Within the box you not only get the pony, but a bow and hairbrush are included too. Everything in matching blue.
This special Applejack is currently only available in-store at Target, where you can pick her up for $9.99. Note that a handful of ponies are also available from 3rd part sellers on Amazon, though with a higher price tag.
